Wednesday’s Words of Wisdom – What if you Fly?
Change can be scary, especially when it comes to chasing your dreams. Unsuccessful past endeavours can make future decisions much more difficult. No matter the situation, the fear of falling often keeps us with two feet firmly on the ground, but what if you fly?
I think Erin Hanson pegged each and every one of us, to some degree, when she wrote “What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?” Unless you’re a thrill seeker, that is. Most people seem to be afraid of failure, change, or both when it comes to making big decisions.
Taking the initial leap is generally the hardest part. There will be times you fall flat on your face, no matter how hard you try. This just means it wasn’t meant to be, at least not at this time. Then, there are times you will fly higher than you ever imagined.
The point is, don’t let past fears control future decisions. Don’t fear things that have not happened yet. If you spend your whole life with the fear of falling, you’ll never know if you were meant to fly.
