So much of the time life seems to be rushed. When you rush too much, thoughts of the future can bring in a lot of anxiety. Thoughts or regrets from the past can leave you feeling depressed. What about living in the present? A wise quote from Lao Tzu might help.
An ancient Chinese philosopher, Loa Tzu, is believed to have said “If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present.”
The past is done an can’t be changed, no matter how much you dwell on it. So, let that sh!t go. It’s ok to go back a visit, just don’t set up camp and live there.
The future hasn’t happened yet. All you can do is plan ahead and hope for the best. There is no sense in worrying about what may never happen.
The present is where it’s at, that is happening now. Do you really want to spend your time reliving the past or anxiously awaiting the future when you could be living peacefully in the present? The present is where you have the most control over possible outcomes, why not put more focus on that? Do what makes you happy. Find peace.
Every day is a chance for a fresh start. Let go of the past. Wait for the future. Enjoy the present. Find peace. LIVE❣️
